Who is the course for?
This course is designed to meet the initial training and knowledge assessment requirements for personnel preparing or designed to work as a fire Watch & Gas Tester.
Note: In the workplace, people undertaking standby/safety Watch duties during hot work and entrance to a confined space shall be required to have appropriate training and understanding to take up responsibilities of a Fire Watch & Gas Tester.

What does this course cover?
Fire Watch
This course will cover the fire watch duties, equipment and proper emergency response associated with performing fire watch attendant responsibilities. This course will also address how hot work and fire prevention methods can mitigate hazards. This course covers requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.252 (a)(2)(iii)
Gas Tester
This course is to ensure that personnel preparing for a gas tester role are equipped with the knowledge to conduct gas test for oxygen levels, gas flammability and toxic gas levels. This course also equips the learners with knowledge to conduct gas testing within confined spaces and awareness of associated confined space hazards. Learners will also learn about relevant legislative requirements, gas measuring and monitoring equipment and documenting gas test results.

To complete this Training course the learner will need to attend the 1 day training course physically.

Learners will be assessed against the outcomes specified in accordance with the required standard.
